The village has about 1490 inhabitants and an area of 4231 hectares. There is a medieval castle - Castle Bouzov (for confiscation by the Nazis in 1939, the seat of the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order). To the town can be reached by bus from Mohelnice or Litovel.
